His smiling eyes shined at her.
God they were the most gorgeous eyes she had ever seen.
They werent bright blue or any shade of green, but brown.
A dark rich brown that sparkled brighter than crystals.
She couldnt help but notice the way he was
so himself.
His voice was loud and booming, but never a nuisance, it was more of a comfort than anything.
His laugh was the same way. Never held back behind a hand, but always left free to be heard all around the room.
He was a people person, making his rounds around the room, checking if anyone needed any help, or just cracking jokes.
And she couldnt help but smile when came to tell her she was doing well.
Yet it made her focus leave everything else when he would look her right in the eyes and listen to everything she said.
He always made her smile when he told everyone she was intelligent and capable.
Finally, someone who remembered something other than her face.
He calmed her too.
When he was around, she was reassured that she could speak her mind, that her ideas werent only useless bits of paper flying around in her head.
But out of everything, she most appreciated him when he was working.
His eyes were so keen, his whole body completely focused, never fearing what failure could do.
He had found who he was, and by the belief in his eyes, gave her the courage to do the same.

"I'll be your best kept secret and your biggest mistake. The hand behind this pen relives a failure every day."
Fall Out Boy
Say goodnight and we'll start counting
counting sheep
counting fluttered heartbeats.
